Public reps and key stakeholders received an update from the team looking after the conservation of St Canice’s graveyard in #Finglas this week.
Over €230000 has been spent on the Graveyard conservation through the community monuments so far, which includes the restoration of some graves and part of the church.
Archaeologist Paul Duffy revealed some exciting news that part of the church may be much earlier than initially thought , originating around the 10th century and very similar to one in St Mary’s, Glendalough.
I would like to thank the DCC team lead by Christine Todd, Finglas Tidy Towns, Finglas Historical society and the Lynch family for all their work in the Graveyard.
