Today in the Dáil, I asked the Minister for Sport, Charlie McConalogue, about the engagements he and his Department have had with national bodies and the local authorities, to ensure local sports clubs are supported in applying for available grants, such as the sports capital grant (now the Community Sport Facilities Fund) for facilities in Dublin 9 and 11.

This week in the Dáil, during the debate on the Mental Health Bill, I contributed to the discussion raising a point on dual diagnosis with the Minister for Mental Health, Mary Butler.

Yesterday in the Dáil, during statements on football, I highlighted the importance of football clubs in bringing together our community and how funding through grants, such as sports capital, have been able to transform facilities in Dublin 9 and 11. I also highlighted the difficulties facing some local clubs around the future of the DDSL and NDSL.
