New Youth Service Funding for Finglas

It was great to get confirmation from the Minister for Education and Youth, Hildegarde Naughton, that there will now be €228,000 of new annual funding for youth services in Finglas as announced earlier this week. The funding will total €228,000 per annum and will help deliver services in Finglas South.

The City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB) will now move to oversee an expression of interest process to allocate a provider. I will be working with local groups and existing services and will keep the community updated as this develops.

The CDETB will be supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of the youth service as the board recently identified Finglas South as an area of priority area for a new service.

The funding will focus on delivering youth services in Finglas South and this should also allow existing youth services focus their current resources on other parts of Finglas, resulting in an area wide impact.

It’s vital that we have strong youth services in place to support the needs of our local community and this announcement shows a continued commitment by Government to support Finglas.
